Most of steel
piles that support old jetties which builded many years ago, have lost its
protection function due to severe corrosion. This condition should be overcome
immediately by protection of the steel before any further corrosion
happened.
Repairing of
the old jetties using concrete jacket (conventional method) generally will not improve the
condition because in few years, concrete will deteriorate and broken, and cause piles will
expose to corrosion again.
The more profitable
alternative for jetty structure repairing is using Tyfo® SW Composite jacketing system. Tyfo® SW
